Despite her 26th complete game of the season, Brittany Hitchcock (16-8) took the loss for the Wahine (25-16, 4-6 Big West), allowing five runs on nine hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

Kessler (13-7) scattered six hits with nine strikeouts and no walks in what was the sixth time UH has been shut out this season.

Leadoff batter Danielle Garcielita collected three of UH’s six hits with her third 3-for-3 game this season.

With two out and two on in the third, Ariana Williams’ single up the middle gave the Titans (24-19, 7-3) a 2-0 lead.

The team conclude the series with an 11 a.m. doubleheader Saturday.

Baseball ‘Bows rained out

The series opener Friday night between UC Davis and UH was rained out in Honolulu.

A doubleheader was scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday.
